Earlier engineering work · Archived projects, not my current focus
Then I built and automated my first drone.
When I first thought about aerospace engineering, I pictured airplanes and spacecraft. Building drones changed that. These are earlier projects in autonomy and controls, kept here as a record.

“An airplane can fly over and drop flowers, but a helicopter can land and save your life.”
01Projects
- Earlier research
Dynamic visual triangulation
A system using two small drones to detect and localize a target with stereovision, with one drone holding positions relative to the target using only visual cues.
- Earlier
Lift + cruise hybrid VTOL
As program manager and lead controls engineer on a capstone team, we designed, built, and flew a hybrid VTOL aircraft for Navy stakeholders in about four months on a tight budget.
- Earlier
Autonomous ship landing
Landing a small drone on a moving model ship platform using onboard and external cameras, with custom state estimation and a stable controller.
- Internship
Helicopter position hold fix
At Bell, I traced a drift in position hold mode during yaw to the offset between the aircraft's center of gravity and its GPS antenna, then developed and tested a controls fix in simulation.
